![]() ![]() To forbid or allow an object, you simply click it and use the button along the bottom or press F. That means they’re forbidden-your colonists won’t interact with them, gather them, collect them, or wear them. Lowell plays horseshoes as a fire spreads out of control.Īllowing and forbidding resources: You’ll notice that many of the items on the ground nearby are marked with a little red X. Make sure the person with the knife has hunting turned off- in general, it’s a very bad idea to go hunting with a melee weapon. Test that right now by having your best shot pick up the survival rifle that’s somewhere nearby, your second best shot pick up the pistol, and the third unlucky schlub pick up the plasteel knife. You can have a colonist immediately carry out a task, wield a weapon, rescue a friend, kick a dying rabbit to death, or what have you by selecting that colonist and right-clicking on the item in question, which will bring up a context-sensitive menu. These should serve you well for a while, though as you start to run low on wood you’ll likely have to crank someone’s Plant Cutting priority up a few notches. Then set most everything else to priority 4, though make sure that someone has priority 2 on construction, preferably the person with the highest skill if nobody has a passion for it. You can check a Colonist’s skill in a particular task by hovering over the box for it or by checking the 'Character' tab after you’ve selected them in-game.Īt this point, I usually then set everyone else’s passions-that is, the categories where they’ve got a flame symbol of any size-to priority 2 or 3, depending on what I want them doing. To start, set your best Doctor, Warden, Cook, and Grow to priority 1 for the appropriate skill-then disable it for the rest of your Colonists. You’ll want to set Bed Rest to 2-but keep an eye out and make sure to manually rest any truly grievously injured Colonists. Set everybody’s priorities on 'firefight,' 'patient,' and 'flick' to 1. (But you’ll get a notification that they’re idle.) Then they’ll stand around like slackjawed imbeciles waiting for a panther to murder them. That’s to say, they’ll try to do 1-rated tasks, then 2-rated tasks, and so on, until there’s nothing for them to do. This screen has two modes, but the one you want to use the vast majority of the time is 'Manual.' Manual lets you set each Colonist’s task priorities on a scale of one to four within the normal left-to-right priority system. Here, you’ll see the things Colonists can do, from most important on the left to least important on the right, along with a check mark saying whether or not they’re allowed to do it. The thing you’ll want to keep fine-tuned is the 'Work' menu-that’s one of the tabs across the bottom of the screen. The Work menu: So, let’s talk the basics of how to get your colonists doing things. Ideally, you set your priorities right, give general orders, and let the game run. While you can manually tell your people what to do one thing at a time, that’s going to be a total waste of your time outside of combat. During combat, your game will lock at speed one. Speed two will get you through the days while speed three gets you through the nights. You’ve also got three game speeds-mapped to 1, 2, and 3 on your keyboard. (Actually, it’s your only friend!) Pause early. Pause is going to be your most faithful friend in this game. ![]() ![]() Learn to pause: Let your colonists’ escape pods hit the dirt. You'll learn to understand it before long. And you almost always learn more of the fails then the wins.Don't be scared of this menu. He almost always dies in the random randy scenaries, but he is realy positiv and fun. If you want to have a huge laugh and have som fun time, with a "not that experince player" you should realy realy look at Etalyx. The big diffrents between the 3 is, that Quill18 uses a lot of time with communicating with the viewers and in the chatroom, and somtime he overlooks diffrent things in the game -) And that can change the way you learn the game. Aavak dos though play with a huge list of moods, I think its 6 mods in the game. But i cant rember if its Blitz or Aavak that always playes on cassandra classic, or they both do. Quill18 is in my opinion the more entertaining of the 3, but you learn at bit more at Aavak or Blitz. Where Quill playes on a high difficulti and with a limeted amount of reroles. So if you watch them, you will always get the "perfect" starters. Both Aavack and Blitz has almost unlimited reroles for there caracters, becors they dont want this trait or that trait. The tre youtuber Quill, aavak and Blitz are deffently 3 diffrent players. ![]()
